Ficha de arte: La torre Eiffel (Seurat).

The Eiffel Tower is an oil painting on panel in 1889 by the French painter Georges Pierre Seurat (which fascinated this work), which is preserved in the Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco, United States. The work is painted using the pointillist technique.
It should be remembered that 1889 was the year of the Universal Exhibition in Paris, where the main attraction was definitely the tower built by engineer Gustave Eiffel. The picture, of small dimensions, shows the Eiffel tower still under construction, not the top floor. Other painters of the period, such as Camille Pissarro, dissatisfied with the construction of the monument of metal boycotted it directly not representing.

Desembarco / Batalla de Normandía (Día D).

Inició la mañana del seis de junio de 1944, al ponerse en marcha la operación “Overlord”. Alrededor de 300 mil soldados al mando del general estadounidense Dwight Eisenhower, desembarcaron en las costas de Normandía con el objetivo de acabar de una vez por todas con los nazis.

La batalla de Normandía en 1944, denominada en clave Operación Overlord, fue la invasión de Europa llevada a cabo por los Aliados en el noroeste de Francia, entonces ocupada por la Alemania nazi. El desembarco, denominado en clave Operación Neptuno como parte de la Operación Overlord, fue ejecutado por las fuerzas aliadas en la II Guerra Mundial. El esfuerzo aliado se concentró en desembarcar en Europa un ejército que, después de liberar Francia, llegara hasta el mismo corazón del Tercer Reich. Los preparativos de la operación Overlord se iniciaron en Gran Bretaña.
