Ficha de arte: Ópera de Sídney.

Located in the city of Sydney, State of New South Wales, Australia, is one of the most famous and distinctive buildings of the twentieth century. Declared in 2007 World Heritage Site, was designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1957 and opened on October 20, 1973, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

The idea of building an opera house in Sydney began to take shape in the last years of the 40s. At that time the theater productions were made in the Sydney Town Hall, a space considered insufficient for such producciones. The field chosen for the construction of the complex, was the former Fort Macquarie, then converted in a tram depot.
